Hosting - Party Game Ideas

Ok, so it's your turn to host this year's 4th of July party. As we all know too well, the downtime between eating and watching the fireworks can be a long and arduous one, especially if your party guests have children. So, to bail you out of hours of boredom and the thought of never being asked to host another 4th of July party, below are a few "themed" party games to entertain the masses.

The first one involves embracing your inner child - invite all party attendees to join in a parade. You can purchase streamers, party horns, balloons, obviously in red, white and blue and have them readily available for your guests or you could request they bring their pre-decorated bicycles or scooters/skateboards with them. Obviously, if you waited and did the decorating at you party; this would also help fill that void space of time until the fireworks. You can have prizes ready to hand out for the funniest, best all around or most creative. If you are extra adventurous, you can all line up and bravely peddle and scoot down your street with your parade.

Another fun party game is a balloon passing game. Again, purchasing the colors of red, white and blue would be in order. All of your party guests can play this game and you can either play as teams - men against women, adults again children, etc. or just play every "man" for himself in a straight line. This game can take on several varieties from the first person using their hands to pass the balloon to the second person who passes it with his legs to the next person having to pass the balloon using his/her neck. Get creative. Another variation of this game is to pass it to music, like musical chairs and whoever ends up with the balloon when the music stops is out. Last one standing is the winner. Since the 4th of July is usually a hot day, why not fill the balloons with water? Or whip cream for a messy game? It will bring out the kid in your guests and lots of fun can be had. (Obviously, if you're going to get wet or messy, you might want to tell your guests to bring an extra set of clothing).

Sidewalk Chalk Artwork - This game is good for both adults and children, but probably more for the children. Again, you can break the teams up with an adult/child or females or adults or one person "teams". (Those party guests that are party poopers can be the judges since they won't like to draw anyway). Take different colored chalk - again since this is a 4th of July part, you could try for red, white and blue. Have you guests draw a patriotic picture, with something specific having to be in the picture - like the flag, the Liberty Bell, fireworks, etc. You can pass out prizes to the winner of this game as well.

Charades - Like the game once played by many a youngster, you can play charades with a 4th of July theme. Some can act out being the Statue of Liberty, Abraham Lincoln, etc.

Along this same line you can play the guessing game where you fill a jar, yep, you guessed it with red, white and blue something; be it jellybeans, gum, hard candies, M&Ms, etc. and have your guests guess how many are in the jar. Obviously the winner would be the person who is the closest to the correct number without going over.

Last, but not least, fireworks. While they are not really a game, you can have your guests help organize which ones get set off after which. You have to be careful though because in some places blowing off fireworks at home is illegal and you should always be the pyrotechnician setting them off - not the children. The "I'm sorry officer I let a child get hurt while blowing off fireworks illegally at my home" game is not one that you get a really great prize for.

Hosting a Disney Cars Birthday Party

Cars is one of the most popular Disney movies for boys. It is also one of the most popular themes for a boy's birthday party. With Cars 2 being released in the summer of 2011, it will undoubtedly continue to be one of the most popular birthday party themes for some time to come. Fortunately, it's very easy to host a Disney Cars birthday party. Party favors are easy to find, and there are plenty of choices for Cars-themed games.

Invite Your Child's Friends and Family

Once you know that you want to host a birthday party based on this popular movie with Lightning McQueen, Mater, Luigi, and the rest of the gang at Radiator Springs, you'll have to decide who to invite. You might want a small party with just a few friends and family, a family-only party, or a party with your child's entire class. If you're just inviting a couple family members and close friends, you can probably get by with an email invitation or by calling them on the phone; if you're inviting classmates, you'll probably want to buy invitations. Fortunately, Disney Cars invitations are pretty easy to find.

Get the Right Decorations

One of the first things that you'll need to do is find the right decorations. You should be able to find Cars-themed invitations, cups, plates, and napkins at your local party store, or online. You also might be able to find tablecloths and wall decals featuring the popular characters. How much you decorate depends on your budget and what kind of space you're decorating for. If you're decorating for an outdoor party at a park, you'll probably want to skip the wall decals and get more balloons.

Find the Right Cake

It's easy to find a Cars-themed cake for your child's birthday party. Your local grocery store's bakery probably can make one for you. You might even be able to get an ice cream cake made for your party at an ice cream shop. If you prefer cupcakes, movie-themed cupcake toppers, baking cups, and racing flags are available. It's easy to bake your own cupcakes if you want to save a little bit of money. If you want to make your own cake, there are themed baking pans and cake toppers that can easily be found online.

Cars-Themed Games

Most kids can keep themselves pretty entertained at a party just by running around in the backyard, but you might want to include a game or two when you host your party. A piñata is popular with many kids; you might be able to find a Lightning McQueen piñata, or at least one with a race car on it. If you're a crafty kind of person, you might want to create a Lightning McQueen posture (without the number 95 on the side) and play "pin the 95 on Lightning McQueen". Another automotive-themed game that you might want to play is "Red Light Green Light".

Ten Tips for Hosting a Pleasure Party

A Pleasure Party is similar to a Tupperware or jewellery party - you invite your friends and a sales person helps you all to have a great time while you learn about the products for sale. The difference is that a Pleasure Party gives you and your friends a chance to explore various adult toys and vibrators. If you want to buy a vibrator or just have fun with your girlfriends, attending a Pleasure Party is a great way to go. Here are ten tips to help you host your own Pleasure Party at your house.

Create Clever Invitations

With a computer, it is simple to create clever invitations. You might want to have a theme to your party. Make clever invitations that make your friends laugh and look forward to having a fun time.

Plan Your Pleasure Party Early

Give yourself plenty of time to plan the party. You may want to deliver your invitations personally, as some people may be embarrassed by the thought of attending a Pleasure Party if you don't explain it. Book your hostess (sales person) and plan early so that everyone can have a great time.

Give People a Good Reason to Attend

Consider your friends and think about what they need. What would stop them from attending a great night out with the girls? Give your friends plenty of reasons to attend. It's not all about buying vibrators, it's about relaxing and having fun as only women can do together.

Make Your Night All About Fun

Holding a Pleasure Party is ALL about having fun. It is about having fun at the actual party and possibly purchasing a vibrator or adult toys that could mean you have hours of fun in the bedroom after the party. The party is all about having fun.

Provide Good Food

Provide delicious party snacks that everyone likes. A good dip in a cob bread, yummy cakes, and sugary sweets are all great for a Pleasure Party. You want your friends to relax and enjoy the night, and good food always helps people to relax.

Provide Plenty of Alcohol

Okay, you don't everyone to get so sloshed that people start fighting or having a bad time, but alcohol is a natural relaxant and as the host you should supply plenty of options. You could have cocktails and allow people to mix their own with juices and soft drinks, or make your friends feel special by putting a strawberry into a glass of champagne.

Talk to the Hostess to Plan the Games

Before the party, you should talk to the hostess to plan the party games. This is definitely an adults only party, so the games may be a bit outrageous. You know your friends well, so suggest games that everyone will enjoy.

Help Your Guests to Relax

Do everything you can to help your guests to relax. Some people feel very nervous when attending a Pleasure Party for the first time, so spend some time helping your guests relax before you get into the adults only conversation and games.

Create a Good Atmosphere in the Party Room

Ensure your guests are warm and comfortable in your party room. You may like to use some decorations, or even a scented candle to create a good atmosphere in your party room. Remember, this party is just for the girls, so put away any of the men toys your husband likes to leave around.

Relax and Enjoy Yourself

Finally, relax and enjoy yourself at the party. After all, it is a pleasure party for a reason, and you will want to explore the adult toys or buy a stylish vibrator for your own pleasure too.

A Pleasure Party is a great way to have a terrific night in with your girl friends and to discover the new range of adult toys and vibrators that can make your life a genuine pleasure.

Hosting a Shoe Shopping Party in Six Easy Steps

Do you enjoy searching for new and fun ways to entertain? How about hosting a shoe shopping party? Who said that baseball was America's favorite past time? For many women shoe shopping is probably considered a sport or at least an art form. I know that it is for my friends and I. The art, skill, and tenacity it takes to find and score that perfect pair of stilettos or those adorable flats is all that it takes to fill most women with exuberant joy and tears of happiness.

Hosting a shoe shopping can be as simple or complex as you like. Here are some ideas to help you plan your party.

1) Decide Which Stores You Will Visit

If you plan to visit a department store be sure to notify the shoe department manager and inform him/her that you and your friends will be paying them a visit on your chosen day. Nordstrom has a wonderful shoe department and is very accommodating. Don't forget to ask for a dedicated sales person, coupons and or store promotional items. Be sure to include the list of stores you plan to visit in your invitation.

2) Decide on your Itinerary

Once you've decided on the stores that you and guests will be visiting, be sure to include time to dine or to enjoy happy hour. Also consider ending the day with a little pampering from your favorite pedicure spa. Be sure to include your itinerary in your invitation.

3) Determine your mode of transportation

Decide if your guests will carpool or arrive separately. Suggestion: Have everyone chip in and rent a limousine or a van for the day.

4) Determine your Guest List

Send shoe theme invitations to all of your favorite shoe shopping buddies. Once your guests RSVP contact the stores that you've selected and inform each store manager of the number of guests in your party. As I mentioned earlier some department stores are very accommodating and may even rope off a section of the shoe department just for your party.

5) Make Your Restaurant Reservations

6) Contact Nail Salon Regarding Your Pedicures

Coordinate your arrival time with the salon manager or owner. Make sure that you and your guests are serviced at the same time and sitting together. Be sure to have a couple of bottles of chilled bubbly, champagne flutes, and chocolate covered strawberries to be enjoyed during the pampering session.

End the party by passing out shoe related party favors to your guests.

The Difference Between Plain Hosting and Cloud Hosting

Web hosting or plain hosting refers to utilizing a server to host a website. This hosting service enables a site to go live on the internet and let the people who are online see all the text and images provided on that particular website.

It used to be just plain hosting of a site. Today, however, there exists what is known as cloud hosting. The term may sound new to you but you may actually be using it without your knowledge.

Google is a pioneered in cloud hosting. The cloud actually refers to an extensive computer infrastructure that Google utilizes especially in most of its operations including the search engines.

By cloud hosting, it means a website is being hosted on a clustered or group of servers. Through this method, more than one server supports a site's online operations giving it more power with little chances of a crash or other server-related problems. In other words, a website takes advantage of a number of servers in managing its security features, load balance and hardware resources and in real time at that.

With this type of hosting, a website can expand easily unlike when using a single server or shared server which has certain limitations. Lesser problems can be experienced by website owners and publishers owing to the scalability of this option.

Less cost is also involved which can really be a major advantage. The reason for its cost effectiveness is that cloud hosting companies charge users only for every use. Only the quantity of the computing power is what's considered similar to what power and water companies do. There's no longer any need to reserve power for server because cloud hosting providers can easily meet the requirements of websites on time.

In terms of security, companies still have to make sure they have an effective strategy for protecting their valuable data. This is one area where they should invest in training their people. An important step to take as well is to reach an agreement with the cloud hosting service to encourage them to be transparent in their operations and to assure clients of immediate action should troubles occur that can affect online operations.

Cloud computing and hosting have become an integral part of the IT industry in the recent years. In fact, this has led to the entry of more companies providing such service. Among the major groups in this field today are the GoGrid, Amazon, RakeSpace, Mosso, FlexiScale, GridLayer and NetDepot.

Reports have it that startup companies are opting for cloud hosting nowadays rather than build their own IT infrastructure or data centers which can be very expensive. Apart from the appliances, getting manpower to oversee them adds to the expense. Whereas by going for the cloud, organizations can just leave their server needs to these services on the internet and pay only for the computing power that they use.

For those conscious about their budget but aim to create powerful websites, this route is indeed highly recommended.

Strawberry Shortcake Party Supplies, Games, and Ideas For Hosting a Spectacular Birthday Party

If your daughter is a Strawberry Shortcake fan, you can host a great party by getting the right supplies and preparing appropriate games and activities shown below. These ideas will leave your daughter and her party guests "berry" happy!

*First off, select your colors. Pink, white, and red are great colors for your party.

*For fun invitations, make two sides of a strawberry out of construction paper and fold it in half. Write the information for the party (time, date, etc.) on the inside of the strawberry.

*When you make your invitations, ask that your guest wear a dress with pink, white, or red in it. This will make a nice photo with your daughter and friends wearing matching Strawberry Shortcake dresses.

*To decorate, use theme balloons to blow up and hang on ceilings and walls. Be sure to include pink and red streamers to "spice" things up! Cut out and color large paper strawberries to brighten your party room!

*Play "Pin the stem on the strawberry." It is played just like "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" except you pin the stem on the strawberry. Use a large piece of poster board or butcher paper to draw a large strawberry. Then cut our a stem to fit and you're ready to play!

*Play "Find the strawberries": Buy strawberry pieces of candy and hide them around the house. Give each child a basket and see how many pieces of candy they can find to fill their baskets!

*Have a strawberry toss. Use pink and red beanbags as the "strawberries" and draw a big green bush on a piece of blank white cardboard. Cut a hole in the middle of the bush. Have the children take turns throwing the beanbags into the bush. The winner is whoever gets the most "strawberries" or beanbags through the bush.

*For game prizes, give your winners (or each guest) a diamond tennis bracelet, a princess crown, metallic heart necklaces or candy necklaces--anything that helps them "dress up" like their favorite characters!

*You can never leave a party without getting a goodies bag. Hand out fun Strawberry Shortcake treat bags filled with: an assortment of candy, Musical Birthday Straws, a Princess Sash, Candy Lipstick, Push Pop Candy and more! Or have a colorful pinata filled with candy and prizes for your guests to take home in their treat bags.

*Turn your birthday sheet cake into a "strawberry land" by making green bushes out of green frosting and putting little red dots on them for the berries. You can also dot the cake with strawberry candy. If you opt for cupcakes, use pink or red icing and put strawberry rings on the top of each one.

*At the beginning or end of the party, give your guests a little party favor like a pack of strawberry seeds, a pair of garden gloves, lip gloss, or some Strawberry Shortcake stickers as a token of thanks for coming.

Incorporating some of these ideas will make your party a success. Have fun!

Swinger House Parties - What To Do When Hosting Your Own Private Swinger House Party

With all the preparations and excitement of hosting your own swinger party, it can be easy to forget about the simple things you can to do to really set your private house party apart from an average get together. Here are some tips to help make your swinging party a successful one:

  • Be Prepared: Be fully prepared to welcome your guests when they arrive, and make them feel like the party started when they stepped through the door. Do not add to their nervousness by leaving them to finish your preparations, especially if this is their first time coming to your home.

  • Be Clear: If someone uninvited or unfamiliar to you comes to the party, let them know that sexual activities are likely to occur. That way you can avoid any unpleasant misunderstandings later on just in case they are the date of a forgetful guest.

  • Be Courteous: Give a personally guided tour to every guest that is unfamiliar with your home. Show them where the bathrooms, bedrooms, bar and exits are. Tell them everything you would appreciate knowing if you were a guest instead of the host.

  • Be Considerate: Even if your guests only accept ice water, offer them a drink as soon as they arrive. It's usually easier for people to get into the party mood if they're holding a glass in their hand.

  • Be Accommodating: Make introductions on a one-to-one basis, with a comment to help start the conversation. Introducing new guests to a group of people at the same time or making multiple introductions at once can be confusing and intimidating.

  • Be A Leader: It is often expected for the host to make the first move. If the party is not progressing past cocktails and conversations, your guests won't be pointing their fingers at each other. They will be pointing them at you.

  • Be A Recruiter: With lots of people coming through the door at once, it makes it difficult for you to manage the party. Ask close friends to help you tend the bar and take guests on tours.

Hosting a Co-Ed Wedding Shower

In recent years, there's been a trend to host showers including men and women, to honor both the bride and the groom. Beverly Clark, in her book, Showers offers numerous suggestions for a co-ed wedding shower. If this type of shower appeals to you, this article will list numerous suggestions to host a great party. Also it's a good idea to coordinate the event with the best man or maid of honor.

Food and Drinks

An outdoor barbecue is something that would appeal to both men and women. Hot dogs, hamburgers, beef brisket, potato salad, cole slaw, and baked beans are the usual dishes served at a barbecue. For dessert, why not have banana pudding rather than a cake or pie? Also be sure to have plenty of tea, lemonade, wine, and beer on hand.

This type of wedding shower will obviously be a rather large party, and I see nothing wrong with the hosts asking the guests to help provide food for everybody. Each person can bring a dish, rather like a potluck dinner.

Shower Themes

1) Honeymoon Shower. Find out where the bride and groom plan to take their honeymoon and plan your co-ed party with that destination in mind. You can have decorations significant to that country or state, such as a flag, pictures, etc. You could serve ethnic food and play ethnic music. Have your guests bring gifts that will help the couple on their honeymoon, such as luggage, a camera, film, guidebooks, foreign language book, travel grooming kit, first aid kit, foreign currency traveler's checks, and perhaps several people could pitch in and buy a video camera for the bride and groom.

2) Entertaining Shower. This type of shower is geared towards giving the couple items they will need to entertain others in their home. If you are planning a barbecue, how about asking guest to pitch in and buy the couple their own barbecue grill? Other guests could bring tools and utensils necessary for a barbecue. Other gift ideas include bar glasses, wine glasses, wine rack, decanters, electric warming tray, fondue pot, serving trays, ice bucket with tongs, relish dishes, bottle corkscrew, cocktail pitcher, and chips and dip set.

3) Hobby Shower. This is another good theme for a co-ed shower and also for a second-time bride or groom, who already have their home(s) well-stocked with the essentials. Find out what hobbies the bride and groom enjoy and have guests bring gifts specific to those hobbies. A few examples for the groom include fishing rod and tackle, golfing equipment, bowling essentials, tickets to a sports event, etc. Ideas for the bride include scrapbooking supplies, sewing items, gardening accessories, and tickets to a play or concert. If the bride and groom have hobbies in common, such as biking, canoeing, hiking, or skiing, ask your guests to bring gifts that reflect these shared interests.

Whichever theme you choose for your shower, including the groom in the festivites is a wonderful way to celebrate the couple.

Most Popular Web Hosting Companies

The funny thing about the most popular web hosting companies that are out today is the fact that they are not always the most expensive. There seems to have been a misconception in years past about having to go with a web hosting company based solely on their hefty price tag. But as time has proven, even the cheaper web hosting companies can and have become some of the most popular around and it isn't just because of the low price tag. Many of them have features just as good, if not better than their expensive counterparts and prove that sometimes good things really do come with small price tags.

You can search and search all you like but it will be hard to find any web hosting companies that are as popular as the following three:

1.    Yahoo Small Business: Maybe Yahoo Small Business web hosting is so popular because of its name and maybe it's so popular because of its very reasonable price. But it is more likely the features that it offers that make it a winning pick every time. They have 24/7 customer service where you can actually talk to a real live person so when something goes wrong you can get it resolved right away. They also give you Yahoo Sitebuilder software for free which enables you to make a great looking website with no knowledge of website design needed. They offer plenty of disk space and data transfer and their uptime is among the best in the industry. Yahoo Small Business proves that a big name doesn't have to come with a big price tag.

2.    GoDaddy.com: GoDaddy.com may have gained much of its popularity by the women in bikinis commercials, but they have grown to be a web hosting company that more and more consumers are trusting. They too offer 24/7 support and they have all sorts of website building features that can be utilized. There prices are super low and they practically give you service for the first few months. There data transfer rate is very plentiful and their disk space is unlimited and they too have an uptime that is hard to beat. They have certainly come a long way from the pretty girls in the commercials, though they still do that too.

3.    BlueHost.com: BlueHost.com has been in the game for many years and their popularity has surged on a yearly basis that there are now over 915,000 domains that are currently hosted there. With the features they have to offer it is really no wonder. Along with 24/7 support you also get unlimited data transfer, unlimited disk space, and you can host unlimited domain names under one account. They also give you an unheard of 2,500 e-mails to use for your website, not that you will ever use all of them, but they are there if you need them. Oh, and all of this is only going to run you about $7.00 per month.

While there are many other popular cheap web hosting companies that you will find online, one thing is for certain, if you search for the most popular web hosting companies on Google or Yahoo you will more often than not be bombarded with these three.

Jason Kay recommends reading reviews of cheap hosting sites to find an affordable, reliable web hosting service that meets your needs.
